Experience -- Client Representation

Technical Solutions' principal, Susan Bitter Smith, CAE, has been a registered lobbyist in Arizona for twenty five years.  In addition, she is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and is often called upon to consult with other non profit associations in the areas of government relations, grassroots, and governance structures.  Technical Solutions has represented a variety of clients ranging from:

  • Telecommunications providers,

  • Health care providers,

  • Developers,

  • Non profit organizations both at the Federal level in Washington, D.C. and

  • The local level at the State Legislature and in local cities and counties.

Present and past governmental affairs clients include the Arizona Cable Telecommunications Association, Americans for Affordable Electricity, Alltel, the Arizona Internet Service Provider's Association, Cingular Wireless, Direct Impact, La Posada Resort, DMJM Arizona, Inc., United States Fireworks Safety Council, Professional Medical Transport, Biodyne Health Systems, Citizens for a Sound Economy, Maricopa Integrated Health System, Health Insurance Association of America, Spectrum Health Systems, Kidney Care Partners, and the American Mineral Resource Alliance.  In addition, we have provided pro bono advocacy services for Arizona State University, the ASU Alumni Association and Mother's Against Drunk Driving.  Technical Solutions is the Arizona outreach operative for Hill and Knowlton, Inc. and local operative for Multi-State Associates.

Experience -- Client Services

Technical Solutions has considerable expertise in managing grass roots neighborhood outreach for development and redevelopment projects, having recently successfully completed two such outreach campaigns in Scottsdale, the Main Street Plaza (Loloma) redevelopment and the Scottsdale Waterfront development. We continue to work on similar grassroots efforts in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Goodyear and various other valley cities.

We believe that our expertise in dealing with public outreach, the City municipalities, public affairs and government approvals will be helpful in not only successfully completing, but also expediting the required approvals necessary for your project.

The principals and professional staff of Technical Solutions are prepared to use their unique "on the ground" knowledge of the area's "movers and shakers", neighborhood activists, as well as community and business leaders to build a coalition of supporters for your project.  Our approach to grass roots organization is to truly create a "ground swell movement" rather than use a "slick" public relations approach. To that end, we have manpower prepared to work the neighborhoods to gather the necessary support for the project in order to move forward into the next phase of the project.

Our team that will be assigned to your project includes not only the time of Technical Solutions' principals, but of our other professional staff members that will be involved in contacting the neighbors and neighborhood groups, preparing materials, and assisting with research and neighborhood support.

We know from experience that this project is time intensive; however, we welcome the challenge and are committed to doing our part in order to ensure the support necessary to move forward on your project.
